Welcome to science class! We are going to have a GREAT year!
Classroom and Laboratory Expectations:
- Be prepared. Be on time. Be respectful.
- Tardiness will result in the loss of CRS points.
- You can ALWAYS use the restroom with PERMISSION. Please be aware that you are responsible for any information covered or assignments made or collected while you are out of the room. Check with a classmate after you return.
- Treat others with respect. This means LISTENING when someone else is talking.
- No eating or drinking (except water) in the classroom.
- Do not touch or handle equipment until you are instructed to do so.
- Before leaving class every day please make sure that your area is clean and all equipment has been put away.
- Report ALL damage and breakage to the teacher immediately! Do not attempt to pick up broken glass.
- When eye protection is required I will let you know. When this is the case you MUST wear your eye protection.
- When completing your assignments do so thoroughly and carefully.
- Proofread your work.
- Assignments turned in late (with the exception of absent work) will result in the loss of CRS points. If the work is one day late it will be 1 CRS point off. Two days late is 2 CRS points off. If you have not completed the assignment within 5 days of the due date you will receive a 0 on the assignment.
- If you are absent it is your responsibility to ask me for make-up work. There will be a folder in class where your assignments will be kept. You will have a deadline for the absent work you submit. For example, if you were absent for one day you will have one day to complete the work. If you were absent two days you will have two day to complete the work and so on and so forth.
- Most homework that is assigned (except for projects) will not be collected and will not be worth points. The benefit of completing the homework is you will better understand the material. There will often be a quiz (Bellringer) the following day on the homework. If you completed the homework you will perform better on the quiz.
- iPad’s are to be used for school work only. You should not be playing games, participating in social media, watching videos or anything not school related once the bell has rung at 8:00. Not following this rule results in an automatic detention.
